(that's assuming you did the same tru-oil method as I did, wet sanding from 220 grit upwards using the oil, getting gradually finer with the paper until you can polish it). I have been letting each coat dry for 24 hours, then using 0000 steel wool before the next coat. Would sanding with 800 or 1000 be better ? Will the Tru Oil eventually build up and level out. There are still small pore marks.

Then rub in a very light coat of Tru-Oil, thinned if necessary with some MS. I'd be very surprised if that doesn't resolve the issue.
